There’s a thin line between hero worship and dangerous obsession . . . the explosive new Eve Dallas and Roarke thriller
‘A crisp winter morning in New York. In a luxury apartment, the body of a woman lies stretched out on a huge bed. On the wall above, the killer has left a message in bold black ink: FOR LIEUTENANT EVE DALLAS, WITH GREAT ADMIRATION AND UNDERSTANDING.
Eve Dallas is used to unwanted attention. Famous for her high-profile cases and her marriage to billionaire businessman Roarke, she has learned to deal with intense public scrutiny and media gossip. But now Eve has become the object of a singular and deadly obsession. She has an ‘admirer’, who just can’t stop thinking about her. Who is convinced they have a special bond. Who is planning to kill for her – again and again…
With time against her, Eve is forced to play a delicate – and dangerous – psychological dance. Because the killer is desperate for something Eve can never provide – approval. And once that becomes clear, Eve knows her own life will be at risk – along with those she cares about the most.’
A huge thank you to Clara for asking me to be apart of the blog tour for Obsession In Death. I’ve never read a J.D. Robb book before so I was excited to get started. I know that this is a book which is part of a huge series of books, none of which I have read, but knowing this could be read as a stand alone made it easier to approach.
Eve finds herself a murderers obsession, called to the scene of a murder its clear that this murder was carried out FOR Eve. The murderer makes sure to leave Eve in absolutely no doubt about that. Soon every case, friendship and every single aspect of Eve’s life is being picked apart by someone and Eve has no idea what to do or who it could be. It’s impossible to figure out who is using her as their reason to kill and as the killer’s obsession grows and grows, Eve starts to fear for her loved ones lives.
Although this book can be read as a stand alone, at times I felt it would have helped had I read the others. So I had at least had the background on certian details of the story. However, not having read the others didn’t stop me getfing completely caught up with the book and becoming madly obsessed with it.
I absolutely loved Obsession in Death. I could not put this book down and I simply devoured the entire book in one sitting. It was compelling, fresh, intriging and exciting and because I haven’t read any of the 40 previous novels it now gives me a huge back catalogue of books I can now work my way through and gobble up one by one.
