‘Behind the music…
Being best friends with a mega-star has its perks and Nicole Wilde, music journalist, laps them up. But when said friend, Dylan King, gorgeous lead singer of The Burnouts, has zero sense of self-preservation – once a drop of alcohol hits his blood stream ‒ and an inability to keep ‘little Dylan’ in his pants, it also comes with responsibilities.
Now, Nicole has to track down Dylan in time to play a charity gigtomorrow. Half a dozen groupies, a haunted hotel, a tattoo parlour, a reality show runner-up and a crazy bed-hopping, sleepless night later – will she find him before the tour bus leaves town? And when she does, is it time to head home? Or to jump on the tour bus and go along for the ride!’
Between a Rockstar and a Hard Place is the prequel to Portia MacIntosh’s How Not to be Starstruck. Which is due out in March 2014.
Between a Rockstar and a Hard Place is all about Dylan (sigh). After a gig he disappears… This is not new, this is Dylan’s thing! As a journalist who can’t get enough of Dylan and his band Nicole is left to track Dylan down. Nicole is the only one who can reign Dylan in!
Only this time, whilst following Dylan all over town and mainly back to the hotel where he is sleeping with anything that moves, she finds help coming from a rather tasty singer.
Together they are led on a wild chase, with only clues as to where Dylan has possibly been. Will she find him in time for tomorrow?
Nicole is hilarious and had me laughing so much with her witty one lines especially involving Dylan.
Dylan is an utter idiot, he will literally have sex, leave then pick up another girl with seconds…. And I LOVED HIM!! What is it about bad boys that excite us girls so much.
Between A Rockstar And A Hard Place is such a fun, exciting and genuinely funny read.
This is such a brilliant taster of what is to come from Portia, I am so excited to see what Dylan gets up to next.
Brilliant story, I loved it!
